Sensei K. Murray
Sensei Murray began his training with TIKK in September 1997 as a 7 year old White Belt In the junior class under Kyoshi Maria Kristensen. He became the first teenager to earn the rank of Sho-Dan in TIKK History on April 15, 2007. He was promoted to Ni-Dan on April 25, 2010. In August 2010 he started the Baylor Isshinryu Karate Club (BIKC) while attending Baylor University in Waco, TX. Sensei Murray graduated from Baylor University in December 2012 with a BBA in Economics. On April 14, 2013, he was promoted to the rank of San-Dan and received the title of Sensei from Hanshi Robert A. Kristensen. He is the head instructor at the Coppell and Trophy Club, TX. Dojo. Sensei Murray continues his training at the Grapevine, TX. Dojo with Hanshi Robert A. Kristensen.
Sensei L. Murray
Sensei Laura Murray began her martial arts training at TIKK in April 2002 after watching her 3 sons train at TIKK for nearly 5 years prior to that. She earned her Sho-Dan on April 13, 2008 and her Ni-Dan on August 27, 2011. In July 2014 at the Isshinryu Hall of Fame she received the Outstanding Contribution Award. At the Summer Shiai on August 23, 2014 she earned the rank of San-Dan. At the Winter Shiai on December 12, 2015, she earned the title of Sensei. She continues to train at the Grapevine, TX. Dojo and teaches at the Coppell, Texas Dojo with Hanshi Robert A. Kristensen.
Mrs. Grace Murray began her training in June 2010 under Hanshi Robert Kristensen. In the fall of 2011 she began training under Sensei Kyle Murray at the Baylor Isshinryu Karate Club. Mrs. Murray and Sensei Kyle Murray were married in their hometown of Coppell, TX. Soon after, they were expecting their first child. She continued training throughout her pregnancy and was voted Most Outstanding Female Karate-ka at the 2014 Gasshuku. The Murray’s welcomed their first child in June 2014. She balanced her training and motherhood by bringing her daughter to class with her. In September 2015, she co-founded the Trophy Club Dojo with Sensei Kyle Murray. She earned the rank of Sho-Dan on December 12, 2015. Mrs. Murray is an instructor at the Coppell and Trophy Club Dojo’s and continues her training in Grapevine, TX. Dojo with Hanshi Robert A. Kristensen.
